FAQs

About Our Prints:

Art is very personal and we know it can feel daunting to purchase a print you've only seen represented digitally on a computer. We take much pride in the quality of our prints and the experience you can expect from the gallery. Each image is printed using the latest archival techniques.

Our prints are editioned and once sold out, we won't arbitrarily create additional sizes to extend it. Each print is numbered, titled and signed.

All limited edition prints are signed by Patrick Prothe. The edition number and signature are located on the bottom corners on the front of the print. If the signature and edition number interfere with the image, Patrick may decide to sign the edition on the back. The signature, edition number and title on the Metal Prints are laser engraved on the back of the print.

Edition Sizes

Each image is printed borderless and true to size.

PRINT TYPES

Baryta Prestige Paper (11x17 prints)

Baryta Prestige is a paper with a white, smooth satin finish with the look and feel of traditional silver halide darkroom papers. You'll find it produces deep blacks, rich colors and subtle gradations. It provides exceptional image permanence.

Metal Prints

Dye-Sublimation onto aluminum metal is the process of going from a solid to a gas, back to a solid - skipping the liquid state. The aluminum and transfer paper are placed into a custom heat press, which is heated to temperatures exceeding 380 degrees Fahrenheit. While being subjected to extreme heat and pressure, the dyes from the transfer paper turn into a gas, are pressed into the surface of the metal, and then solidify into the treated aluminum. As the dyes cool they are permanently infused beneath the surface of the metal substrate resulting in extreme detail and longevity.
